It's deffenetly not good for the earth, and like what tini said it's not good to breath. With Solar Energy it doesn't have all these chemicals in the air. I WOULD STICK WITH SOLAR ENERGY
I agree with tini all the gas,and oil in the air will pollute the air.Polluting the air is very bad for our health.Plus polluting the air would kill people.
What I ment was that when we, say... oh, drive a car, we're putting all this gas in the air. Or when we use a train (if we still use cole to run our trains). When the used cole " smoke " comes out of the train, it pollutes our air. Like I said... THAT WE BREATH!
The reason we should use solar energy because it is a clean non pollutant energy. In different parts of the earth people cook with the sun, run houses and some people have created real solar cars. Whith all the c-02 in our cars exhaust, When the c-02 goes into our atmosphere it melts it, remember from Monday Ms.Baker told the class how thick the pant on the spinning globe, This lets the sun`s ultra violet rays come in and this is called the green house affect or GLOBAL WARMING! Making it hotter in some places and colder in certain places. Stick with our most renewable energy.
We don't want to use all that gas, oil and coal. That would be polluting and adding to global warming. Then all the polar bears and penguins would go extinct. Besides, we don't have a whole lot of oil, coal and gas, anyway. Also, we are using up those resources a lot faster then they were produced. That is not a good thing. Handy? I don't think so.
I agree with Midnight and Tini, gas and oil will make the air we breath in not good. We breath it in every day. I also agree with ernie. All that oil, gas, and coal is making our global warming worse than ever. And think of global warming and those cute snuggly polar bears! They will be all gone before you know it.
First, let me clear up a couple of things - our atmosphere can't really "melt", but it can have too much carbon dioxide, and that does cause global warming.
I agree about using renewable energy, but what can I do about it? What can YOU do about it? I mean, you are just kids, right? (tee hee, you know I don't really mean it!)
BTW: breath/breathe - they are different words - be careful!
I think that it's great that people want to use alternate energy souces, but we haven't actually ran out of fossil fuels yet. Also, if everybody uses solar energy, and has solar panels, they're all going to break at some point, right? What are we going to do with all that E-waste? Besides, some people are saying that global warming is a hoax. I say, why change what's worked for us for the last 100 or so years?
I think Phat Mann is completely wrong. True, our fossil fuels have lasted this long, but we're running out fast and if everyone is still depending on gas and oil when we actually do run out, what will they do for energy?
Hmmm.... interesting discussion. I guess I am having a hard time buying the global warming hoax theory, but I do get your point about people worrying about getting ourselves into a new problem, while we are solving a current one (your example of solar panel disposal) - the problem lies, I believe (and feel free to disagree) in the rate at which humans are consuming the Earth's resources, of all types, causing imbalances that need to be dealt with -
What is the definition of e-waste?
I think we may keep this discussion going for awhile - I like hearing your ideas...
I disagree with phat mann too. It is irresponsible to pollute the earth because global warming will either destroy the Earth or make it very hard for people and animals to live.
I think we should use solar and wind power because they are healthy and clean ways to make energy!!!!!!!!
So... what is the big deal about solar energy anyway? Why are we concerned about using the sun when we have all this handy oil, coal and gas? I agree with green dragon if we run out of fossil fuels we would not be able to rely on them. We would problebly die. So we should start trying to use solar powered cars, ovens, lights, and homes. We can try using wind power also.
After speaking at length with my sister Nicole, we agreed that we should look at this issue multiperspectivally. It is important to remember and respect the opinions of others, while being able to support your own opinion with evidence. To me, it seems like a no brainer to increase our use of solar energy, while weaning ourselves off of our dependence on fossil fuels. While the initial investment in turning to solar innovations may be substantial, in the long run, I think that it will pay off. Thanks for letting me be a part of your conversation.

Because, we should'nt use those things to our air that we breath every day.
I DON'T THINK THAT'S A GOOD IDEA!!!!
See you later! :) !

A great start - don't forget to proofread everyone!
Also, try to be as specific as possible and support your ideas with facts...
Tini - we shouldn't use what things exactly?
Midnight - you said there were chemicals in the air - what chemicals?
All: Feel free to add to what has been said so far...
Ms. Baker
I agree with tini and midnight. Solar Energy is better for the Earth and its better faor the animals that live on earth.

GROSS:)

Spider Pig is right. Why use something you have a limited amount of instead of something you can use over and over.

We, the kids, can recycle. We can't turn off the car to prevent exhaust from coming out of the exhaust pipe, but we can remind our parents.

Appearently, we'll use renewable energy. That's the plan right? (Even if I don't agree with it.)
I agree pigwidgoen. What would happen? What would we do if all the power in the world went out?
Hmmm.... interesting discussion. Ms. Baker
I think Ernie and Pigwigoen are right wouldn't do so well if run out of fossil feuels and don't have any other resources what are we going to do?
the polution in the air is what I ment
I agree with ernie and spiderpig to. Why use so much fossil fule when you can use a whole bunch of solar energy.
I disagree with phat mann too. It is irresponsible to pollute the earth because global warming will either destroy the Earth or make it very hard for people and animals to live.

You are right daphne we should use solar enargy because it does not pollute the air with pollution!
I agre with big t we should save are resources ps you spelled fuel wrong
So... what is the big deal about solar energy anyway? Why are we concerned about using the sun when we have all this handy oil, coal and gas?

Mr. Bling is (from my point of view) correct. If we could make the transition little by little it would be easier than having it dumped on us.
